About this deal

It is simple, silly humour that appeals to young viewers and has a warmth for those who watch with them. The show's real star is left to last: the irrepressible Rockit the frog bounces all over the place causing chaos and hilarity simultaneously. His song about reading books is excellent and the story reading session in each episode is particularly popular. Jingly Hat : Baby Pom finds a hat with a jingly bell but can't keep it quiet during a game of hide and seek. It's the perfect successor in many ways, featuring just a few more characters and situations to appeal to children beginning to form and follow words.

Suitcase, tambourine, and hoop are on the main menu whereas for some reason wind is listed in the features section. The colours help the children identify the Fimbles, they are eyecatching colours which can help very young children to learn to focus and slightly older children to learn colours. She is unfortunately quite annoying as the patronising matronly voice is rarely encouraging and can be quite grating. Near the Tinkling Tree, they experience the excitement (Fimbling Feeling) of discovering something new and eagerly share it with their friends.

Their surroundings are also very colourful but still bare a resemblance to the things that children may see around them. Let's Find the Fimbles (Known as Le monde merveilleux des Fimbles in French, and El maravilloso mundo de los Fimbles in Spanish) is a British/French/Spanish VHS and DVD release that contains three episodes from the first series. Particularly great is the fact that the same songs are sung each episode by the different characters ('When you take a look inside a book' and the 'Let's go and see' song), and I think this gives Emily something to recognise each time.Within each episode, something is found by one of the three Fimbles (Fimbo, Florrie or baby Pom) who populate the Purple Meadow. This allows for the soothing tones of Roly Mo to relax everyone with a story tailored to the found object. Instead of including the songs from the show such as the Roly Mo song there is an obscure rendition with no connection to the episodes on this DVD and no words to sing along to.

The Fimbles are very appealing to children as they are brightly coloured, speak English clearly (except for Baby Pom), they play games and they sing songs. The upside is that the Fimbles are appealing to the young audience and hold the attention from at least 18 months to 3 years. I myself have developed a great affection for the Fimbles - I like to sing along with the songs, and my little nephew also likes to sing with me.They get the Fimbling Feeling which involves a bit of soft focus, a twitching of the nose, and their hair standing on end. Pom does not always get things in the way the older ones do - a subtlety that may not always be obvious to the younger viewer.

Jingly Hat: Baby Pom finds a hat with a jingly bell but can't keep it quiet during a game of hide and seek! Fimbo finds what looks like a bright pink sparkly hedgehog, but when it turns out to be bright pink sparkly wig he and Rockit decide it would be great fun to play a trick on Florrie and Pom - guess who's coming to tea?Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Hoop: Fimbo takes all of his friends on a bus journey around Fimble Valley, using his hoop as a pretend steering wheel. I have a six-month old daughter who loves the Fimbles - whatever she's playing with when they come on is forgotten, and she sits or lies on her playmat and watches, completely spellbound. The episodes themselves are pretty good and hold the attention of an 18 month old and even a 3 year old.
